Purpose
The purpose of this activity is to enable the learner to increase their knowledge of the AORN guidelines for environmental cleaning.
Overview
This module will help the surgical team understand and implement the AORN “Guideline for environmental cleaning” and addresses the risks associated with infectious pathogens; the factors to consider when selecting cleaning products; and the frequency of cleaning different surfaces based on the level of contamination and the risk of transmission. This module includes a Power Point presentation; an interactive educational game; pod cast; a case study; an AORN Journal article and Quick View.
