Overview
Patient positioning is an essential surgical task that must be performed correctly in order to prevent injury to patients or personnel. Working as a member of the team, perioperative RNs can minimize the risk of patient injury or complications related to positioning of surgical patients. This session will provide a discussion of the new AORN Guideline for Positioning the Patient and its evidence-based recommendations for preventing positioning-related injury to surgical patients.
