Overview
All perioperative patients are at varying degrees of risk for developing venous thromboembolism, including deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism. Perioperative RNs can implement interventions for safe and effective use of mechanical and pharmacologic prophylaxis to promote optimal patient outcomes. This webinar will review the recently updated AORN Guideline for Prevention of Venous Thromboembolism, which provides evidence-based guidance for nursing practice.
