Outcome
The learner will have the knowledge and confidence to implement evidence-based and recommended practices from the AORN Guideline for Pneumatic Tourniquet Safety, including safe practices to implement for patient assessment, tourniquet application, inflation, and deflation, equipment safety and cleaning, education, and documentation.
Objectives
Upon completion of this module, the participant should be able to:
- Identify the clinical implications of the use of a pneumatic tourniquet.
- Identify safety measures to decrease risk of patient injury caused by use of a pneumatic tourniquet.
