Outcome
The learner will have the knowledge and confidence to implement the evidence-based recommended practices from the AORN Guideline for Radiation Safety that outline the clinical considerations of using radiation as a diagnostic and treatment tool during surgical or other invasive procedures and measures to minimize the risk of radiation exposure and injury to patients and staff.
Objectives
Upon completion of this module, the participant should be able to:
- Identify the clinical implications of radiation use in the perioperative setting.
- Identify measures to minimize the patient’s exposure to radiation.
- Identify measures to minimize occupational exposure to radiation.
