Overview:
Recent changes to the accreditation standards for the CNOR credential administered by the Competency and Credentialing Institute (CCI) have precipitated a review of the recertification processes for that credential. For many years a recordkeeping system which documented the completion of contact hours had been sufficient, but the accreditation standards have recently been strengthened and become more prescriptive. CCI is in the midst of a revision to the recertification methods and this has implications for nurses holding the credential. Jim Stobinski, the CEO of CCI, will discuss the applicable standards and relate how these changes will affect credential holders.
